Gag. Did I just read “to help you take the eye-catching photographs you’re meant to” on Lensrentals’ website? Ugh. I mean, I know we copy out the manufacturer’s drivel, but still. OK, here’s the facts.
This is a good lens that gets you out to 500mm with good Optical Stabilization. It’s not as sharp as a 500mm prime, but it’s good. Plus, it doesn’t cost $300 a week to rent, and it zooms, just in case you want to take a picture that’s not at 500mm. It’s a good, reasonably priced choice for those who aren’t wanting to take a huge lens, tripod, and gimbal head out shooting.
