Tripod head - Giottos MH 1302 medium duty ballhead
We have been very impressed with the newest generation of Giottos heads. The 1302 is a medium duty ballhead capable of supporting 10 pounds, despite weighing less than 1 pound itself. Movement is smooth and the friction knob infinitely adjustible making control of lens and camera easy. The base rotates for panoramic shots. We send the ballhead with a Giottos MH-655 Quick release plate that has a built in bubble level, and compatible lens plate.
We recommend the 1302 for those who want to try a ballhead instead of a pan/tilt head. Its suitable for medium sized lenses: a 70-200 f2.8 or smaller.
