Canon’s Cinema EOS C500 4K Digital Cinema Camera utilizes a similar Super 35mm Canon CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV III Image Processor as the revolutionary C300 but expands on the functionality by offering the ability for 4K image acquisition using an external recorder, like the Ki Pro Quad. The C500 outputs uncompressed Canon RAW for 4K and 2K recording via built-in dual 3G-SDI ports. The onboard CF card slots can be used to provide and 50 Mbps, 4:2:2 HD proxies for an enhanced post workflow.
This version of the Canon EOS C500 comes equipped with a Canon EF lens mount and is compatible with Canon’s new EF Cinema lenses and current EF and EF-S lenses, including compact primes, super telephotos, specialty tilt-shift, macro and fisheye – over 60 in all.
