Sony EX1R

The Sony EX1R is the successor to the Sony EX1, our most popular 1/2" CMOS camera.
Like the EX1 it has a superb 14x Fujinon zoom lens with a wide (5.8mm) field of view and both manual and automatic focus, manual and auto Iris and optical image stabilization. It captures full 1920×1080, 1080P HD images to solid state SxS PRO (and SxS-1) memory cards at multiple bit rates, resolutions and frame rates from 1fps to 60fps (the latter at 720p only). Like the EX1 it has a built in ND filter wheel from clear to 64ND.
It improves on the EX1 in many areas. First, the PMW-EX1R expands its usability by offering user selectable recording modes including DVCAM SD recording, XDCAM HD compatibility, and HDMI output and a choice of recorded bit rates. The new compression formats allow up to 70 minutes of footage to be recorded on a 16GB SxS card. The EX1R has a built-in stereo mic and two XLR audio inputs. It is capable of recording high-quality, two-channel 16-bit, 48kHz linear PCM uncompressed audio.
There are numerous other improvements including Slow Shutter functions, single frame recording, depth-of-field indication, a rotary grip and a 1920×480 high definition Hybrid LCD viewfinder.
