The Sony PMW-100 XDCAM HD422 is a compact camcorder that offers broadcast-quality 50 Mb/s MPEG-2 recording at 1920 × 1080. Furthermore, the PMW-100 is capable of capturing files to either FAT- or UDF-formatted cards, which means you can easily integrate footage from the PMW-100 into any XDCAM workflow. The camera comes equipped with a fixed 40-400mm lens and utilizes a sensitive, single 1920 × 1080 CMOS sensor (1/2.9" type) which works well in low light situations. The infrared shooting mode and built-in infrared LED allows for shooting in pitch black environments. A host of other features such as a 15 second cache recording, continuous recording and selectable gamma curves make this camcorder a great option or addition to any shooting situation.
