Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 for Nikon (Focus Confirm)

Available Today

The Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC is an ultra-wide angle manual focus lens for both Nikon FX and DX cameras. Key features include:

  • Manual Focus w/ Focus Confirmation Chip: The smooth manual focus ring works great for shooting both stills and video, with a special chip allows the use of camera’s focus confirm, auto exposure, auto metering, and auto white balance.
  • Ultra-wide Angle: Compatible with both full-frame and crop-frame cameras, the Rokinon 14mm provides a 115° and 90° angle of view respectively.
  • High Quality Optics: With two ED lens elements, one hybrid aspherical lens element and one glass aspherical lens element, the lens provides sharp images with minimal distortion and chromatic aberrations. Ghosting and lens flare are also kept at bay through the use of Super Multi-Layer coatings, as well as the built-in lens hood.
  • Creative Uses: With an ultra-wide angle lens, you can take advantage of it’s extreme angle of view to capture very interesting images. Common practical uses are for landscape and architectural photography, but the lens can be used to shoot some rather interesting portraits as well. Its close focus distance of 10.79" makes exaggerating perspective very simple to do.

It’s manual focus, but at 14mm focus is basically ‘everything I can’t touch is usually in focus’ so that’s not critical. (Manual focus is the reason I didn’t include longer Rokinon lenses as bargains.) It has a lot of barrel distortion, but everything else at this focal length has some. Not as much, but some. But it’s amazingly sharp. Better than the Nikon 14mm f/2.8 prime (which is way dated) and 1/3rd of the price. I will note, this is held together inside with plastic, glue, and small screws. You won’t be using it for years. But the price of a new one is less than the price of a repair on a 14-24 f/2.8.
