The Sony NEX-FS700U is an NXCAM camcorder with an improved Super 35mm CMOS sensor, offering super slow-motion capability and a choice of a variety of lenses using Sony’s interchangeable E-mount lens system or an assortment of adapters. The NEX-FS700 builds upon the foundation of the NEX-FS100U by adding many user-requested features including 50/60Hz switch-ability, built-in ND filtration, and a 3G-SDI interface.
The newly designed 4K “Exmor” Super 35 CMOS sensor offers high sensitivity, low noise and minimal aliasing. A future firmware upgrade will enable the NEX-FS700U to output 4K RAW bit-stream data over 3G HD-SDI when used with a separate recorder. The camcorder also allows slow motion capability of up to 10x slow motion at full HD resolution or up to 40x slow motion at a reduced resolution.
