Very helpful video on comparative sizes of nikon telephotos lenses. You said that holding the 300 f/2.8 (or any of the heavy lenses) by the camera can damage the mount because of the weight of the lens. I use the Cotton Carrier vest-type holder and can comfortably “wear” a heavy lens all day with that. Question: Since it’s the body of the camera that is braced in the vest and the lens is pointing straight down but hanging freely, am I damaging the mount if I hang a heavy lens that way or is it just when the rig is in shooting position that damage can occur?
