Launching the Lensrentals Pitch Contest
This year, we want to celebrate filmmakers who worked hard despite everything to make their dreams come true. Even short films take an immense amount of time, planning, and money, so we want to help make your vision a reality. And so, we’re so excited to announce our pitch contest, where you have a chance to win a $2000 Lensrentals.com credit, $1000 cash, and plenty of other prizes to help make your vision a reality.
How It Works
We’re looking for those who want to make a short film (5-7 minutes) with their original idea and execution – and all we’d need from you is your pitch. The contest runs from December 28th, 2020, until January 29th, 2021, where you have the opportunity to submit a script and video pitch of your idea to our panel of judges. From there, our judges will select their favorite idea, and you’ll receive a prize package worth an estimated $5,000.
With the help of our sponsors Musicbed, Frame.io, FilmConvert, CineMatch, and others, the prize package will be given to the best pitch as judges by our panel of judges. The prize package, valued at over $5,000, includes —
- $2,000 rental credit from Lensrentals.com
- $1,000 cash
- 1-year Business subscription to MusicBed
- 1 year Pro subscription to Frame.io
- 1 FilmConvert Plug-in Bundle
- 1 CineMatch Plug-in
- A feature on the Lensrentals Blog
When all of the pitches have been submitted, each pitch will be looked over by our team of judges where they will collectively choose their favorite pitch. Our panel of judges includes the Lensrentals marketing and video team, and Cinematographer and No Film School’s Charles Haine.
How to Submit your Pitch
What we’d need from you is a 1-3 minute video pitch submitted to YouTube explaining your idea to our judges. In addition to your video pitch, we’ll need a written pitch, which can be an abbreviated copy of the script, logline, synopsis, mood board (optional), and cast (optional) submitted by January 29th, 2021. The video pitch must be submitted on YouTube, and the written pitch on the Film Freeway platform, which you can submit by clicking the button below.
