14 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Rent From Us
At Lensrentals.com, we’re known for renting cameras, lenses, and other equipment to photographers and videographers throughout the United States and those traveling worldwide. While much of our bread and butter consists of Sony a7R V camera systems and Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lenses, we also offer a range of other gear that people may not have been aware of, let alone things that can be rented. This is no surprise, as we have hundreds of thousands of pieces of gear in our warehouses, and not all of this gear is what you might expect from a rental house specializing in gear specifically for photographers and videographers. So we pawed through some of our inventory and found fourteen things you might not know we rent. So, without further ado, let’s look at some of the things you probably didn’t think you could rent from Lensrentals.com.
Canon Cine-Servo 15-120mm & Other Specialty Cinema Gear
To kick off our list, starting with a specific lens seems obvious, but I also want to talk about some lesser-known gear as a whole, top-of-the-line cinema gear. The Canon Cine-Servo 15-120mm isn’t your standard Canon lens; it’s a Cinema lens that costs about as much as a nice car. At $32K, this lens is impractical to own for 99% of filmmakers, but a week-long rental under $1,200 is far easier to bear. The same applies to a lot of our ARRI camera systems and other broadcasting lenses.
Projectors

Another niche product we offer is our broad line of projectors. We offer some of the top-of-the-line projectors, like the Sony VPL-FHZ85 Projector, which delivers 4K quality in an extremely bright package—perfect for large-scale projects that require the absolute best. However, we also offer smaller projectors, such as the Anker Nebula Cosmos — perfect for a backyard movie night.
MacBook Pros

At this point, a capable laptop is pretty much a required tool for photography or videography, but it’s not something that everyone has in their toolkit. If you’re shooting a big production and need something with a bit more reliability, Lensrentals.com offers a wide range of MacBook Pros that should help you get across the finish line. Not many people consider a laptop a rental item, but it is.
Sandbags
An item we often discuss as a product that does exceptionally well but never expected it to, is our line of sandbags. In our eyes, shipping weighted bags doesn’t make a lot of sense, but from a production perspective, it makes a lot of sense. If you’re renting all of your camera gear, lighting, and grip gear from one location, it makes sense to include your sandbags in that rental, too, so it’s an item that rents surprisingly well.
VR Headsets

While VR is finding its place in some productions, it’s still used largely as a fun tool for playing games and watching movies. Even though it hasn’t found much footing in the production space yet, we’ve been renting VR headsets for a few years now. Both the Meta Quest systems and the Apple Vision Pro are available in our inventory and are fun rentals for a weekend.
Hard Drives
Hard drives are generally considered expendable tools for photographers and videographers. But if you’re working on a big project, and need an extra 8TB of hard drive for that project and not afterwards, running to a Best Buy and making the purchase can cost a lot. So instead, it’s often easier to just rent the hard drives for your specific job, and return them after the job has completed.
Color Calibration Tools

If you’re a commercial photographer or videographer, you know how important accurate color is. However, it’s always surprising to me how few photographers and videographers actually build a color-calibrated workflow for their work. But if you’re worried about your color, and don’t have a screen calibration system, we offer calibration systems to make sure everything is looking bright and accurate.
Underwater Camera Housings
One item we spent years actively expressing we’d never rent was underwater housing for cameras. Fifteen years ago, they were kind of unreliable and hard to test, but as their reliability improved, so did our interests. So for the last few years, we’ve been renting underwater housing kits and waterproof cameras, letting you capture all of your underwater footage for your next tropical vacation.
Lens Adapters
Lens adapters were a popular product when many of the brands were transitioning from DSLR systems to mirrorless platforms, but have faded from the spotlight in recent years. Still, if you have a lens you love for an older system, we still offer lens adapters to use your entire kit, regardless of what the lens mount might look like.
Camera Strap Supports

When renting a camera from Lensrentals.com, you’ll also receive the camera’s default strap, which is included in the rental but may not be the most comfortable option for extended shooting days. If you’re looking to ease the strain on your shoulders, we offer a variety of third-party strap systems available for rental.
Networking Equipment
Some sets require complicated LAN systems to help speed up the process of data transfer and watching footage live, and for that reason, we offer a large range of routers and switches designed specifically for highly demanding photography and videography sets.
Tables, Stages, and Chairs
From craft services to graduation parties, we also offer a number of sets that include tables and chairs. These were another line of products we didn’t expect to do as well as they are but it makes sense. If you’re hosting an event and need five tables and a couple of dozen chairs, it’s far more practical to rent these items than store them in a garage or storage space for years after they are no longer needed.
Survey Equipment
As a surprise even to me, Lensrentals.com also offers survey equipment. If you’re looking to do some real-time topographic mapping and don’t have the proper equipment, we offer several options to help you complete the task, provided you know how to use that type of equipment.
Packages

Finally, to finish up this list, we also wanted to talk about our packages for commonly rented gear. We often look through rental orders and have frequently packaged items commonly rented together in discounted packages to help streamline the rental process even further. Be sure to look through our commonly rented packages for more info.
Those are just a few of the products we offer that are available for rent. I hope a few of these were surprising to you, and to see the full scope, take a moment to dive into our available inventory on our website.
