Panasonic’s entry in the “small as a point-and-shoot” Micro 4/3 sweepstakes, the GF-1 has the standard 12.1 Megapixel 4/3 sensor. There is a 3 inch, 460,000 pixel LCD with automatic backlight control, and the GF-1 captures 720P HD video at 60 fps. It can record video as Motion JPG and the camera supports autofocus during video recording.
The GF-1 has has a built-in pop-up flash (suitable for fill flash and that’s about it), can shoot at ISO 3200 (notice we said ‘can shoot’ not ‘can produce usable images’ – ISO 800 has some noise, ISO 1600 is usable with some post-processing.) The hotshoe can be used either for an external flash or for the optional DMW-LVF1 Live View Finder.
