The used Olympus LH-40B Lens Hood is specifically designed for the Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 lens.
This lens hood is mounted on the front of the lens to prevent excess light from entering the lens causing lens flare. The silver design of the lens hood also complements the silver coloring of the lens itself.
