Canon RF-S Mount Lens. The Canon RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM is designed specifically for crop-frame Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras. You can also use it on full-frame Canon RF-mount cameras, on which it’ll automatically enable 1.6x crop mode.
Wide-to-Short Telephoto Zoom. With a focal length equivalent to 29-72mm after sensor-crop factor, the RF-S 18-45mm offers a zoom range that’s just as good for portraiture as it is for all-purpose walking-around shooting. Additionally, it boasts a 7.9-inch minimum focusing distance so you can get in pretty close.
High-Quality Optics. The RF-S 18-45mm’s seven-group/seven-element optical design uses one Ultra Low Dispersion element and two aspherical elements to produce sharp images across the frame while controlling chromatic aberrations and distortions. A combination of optimal lens placement and coated elements help to reduce lens flare and ghosting.
Optical Image Stabilization. The optical image stabilizer offers up to four stops of correction on its own, making it excellent for hand-held photography and shooting in low light. When you pair this lens with an EOS-R camera that has in-body image stabilization, the Coordinated IS features gives you up to six stops of correction for even greater performance without the need to up the ISO or decrease shutter speed.
Stepping Motor Autofocus System. The RF-S 18-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM‘s built-in stepping autofocus motor provides fast and smooth continuous autofocus performance in both still and video shooting. It also offers full-time manual focus adjustment.
