This lens is so much fun! While it obviously has specific uses it was designed for, it’s also really fun to find random objects to shoot extreme macro shots of. It has provides surprising good image quality for such a low-cost specialty lens. The slow aperture range means you’ll need a sturdy tripod, as the built-in LED unit gives enough light for 1/60 – 1/125 @f/11 exposure times at ISO 400. Since the focus point is so close, you’re pretty much limited to the LED unit being your only source of light. For the best image quality, you should definitely stop down to f/16-22. All in all, this lens makes me want to do macro work. When there’s downtime, and it’s in stock, I’m reaching for this guy. Throw this guy on a Sony NEX-7 and you’ve got a pretty amazing setup.
