Fast Normal-Range Zoom. With a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 24-80mm, the OM SYSTEM 12-40mm f/2.8 ED PRO II covers the wide-angle to portrait-length range. Its focal length and quick f/2.8 aperture make it ideal for portraiture, event and wedding photography, and shooting in low light.
Advanced Optical Design. This lens’s complex nine-group/fourteen-element design includes two Extra-Low Dispersion elements, two aspherical elements, one Dual Super Aspherical element, one Extra-Low Dispersion aspherical element, and two High-Refractive Index elements. All of the elements work together to produce incredible sharpness, contrast, and color accuracy across the entire zoom range while reducing color fringing, spherical aberrations, and distortions. Each element has a Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical (ZERO) coating to help reduce flare and promote optimal color transmission.
Movie and Still Compatible Autofocus System. The MSC autofocus system and internal-focusing design offer fast, quiet, and precise focusing performance that’s great for stills and video capture. You can use the MF clutch to quickly switch to manual-focus mode for more precision adjustments, and a floating zoom mechanism gives you a 7.9-inch minimum focus distance so you can get in close.
