The Panasonic 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II OIS is a kit lens designed for Micro 4/3 cameras. Key features include:
Wide to Short Tele Zoom. With a focal range equivalent to 28-84mm after sensor crop, the Panasonic 14-42mm covers the wide to short tele/portrait focal range, making it a good general purpose lens. The f/3.5-5.6 variable aperture doesn’t give much flexibility for low light shooting, so you’ll probably want to only use in outdoor daylight conditions.
MEGA OIS. The in-lens MEGA Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) system helps combat camera shake, letting you shooting at slower shutter speeds when needed.
Optics and Build. This lens features a single aspherical element that helps to minimize aberrations, while its multi-coating prevents reflections that cause flares and ghosting. It has a motorized inner focusing system that ensures smooth, silent autofocus for both still and video shooting. The compact, lightweight design means this lens will fit nicely in your bag and won’t be a chore to carry.
