The Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM A1 Art for Nikon is a high-quality zoom lens designed specifically for crop-frame Nikon DX-mount cameras. Key features include:
Great for sports photography and portraiture
Superb low-light performance and shallow depth of field
Excellent image quality, clarity, contrast, and sharpness
Fast, quiet autofocus with full-time manual override
Fast f/1.8 Aperture Zoom. While most zoom lens apertures top off at f/2.8, the Sigma 50-100mm bests that by 1 ⅓ stops. This enables stellar low light shooting, and provides full-frame style depth of field on a crop-frame camera.
Telephoto Zoom. With a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 80mm-160mm, this lens covers you across a telephoto range and is great for sports photography and portraiture work.
High Build and Image Quality. As a part of Sigma’s Art lens line, this lens goes through Sigma’s rigorous A1 testing, ensuring high image quality. The 50-100mm f/1.8 features a complex optical design that boasts 21 elements in 15 groups. These include three “F” Low-Dispersion elements, one Special Low-Dispersion element, and one high-refractive, high-dispersion element. This combination delivers great contrast and clarity while reducing chromatic aberrations and color fringing.
Hyper Sonic Motor Autofocus System. Provides fast, smooth, and quiet operation in a wide variety of shooting situations. You can also manually override the autofocus motor at any time by rotating the focusing ring, giving you quick fine-tuning ability.
Dock Compatible. As part of Sigma’s Global Vision series, this lens is compatible with the Sigma USB Dock for Nikon F Lenses (separate rental item), allowing you to adjust certain parameters through the Sigma Optimization Pro software.
