Permanently Polarized. The RODE M5 is a compact, small-diaphragm “pencil” microphone featuring a 1/2-inch cardioid electret condenser capsule with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and low-noise transformerless circuitry designed for a range of performance and recording applications.
Mini End-Address Mesh. The M5 is an “end-address” microphone whose ultra-small form factor makes placement flexible and unobtrusive in any environment. While the mesh head should always face your sound source, this M5 set can be configured for various stereo recording techniques, including mid-side (using optional stands and the included stand adapters), X/Y, and ORTF.
Match Made In M5 Heaven. The RODE M5 Compact 1/2" Condenser Microphone (Matched Pair) is hand-selected by RODE and tested by our in-house inspection teams to be an acoustically matched pair with no more than 1 dB of variation in sensitivity between the two microphones, ensuring precision and consistency. Build and Power. Equipped with a gold-plated 3-pin XLR output connector, this condenser mic has an all-metal body with a heavy-duty matte black finish and requires 24V or 48V phantom power to operate. Please note that while most mixing desks and audio interfaces have a built-in phantom power switch or setting, some environments may need external in-line power.
