Revolutionary Audio Capture. The RODE SoundField NT-SF1 Ambisonic Microphone uses four 1/2" TF45C condenser capsules 360° broadcast-quality audio for all of your recording needs. Particularly great for film, VR, and gaming audio, the capsules are arranged in an tetrahedral array to record every sound from every direction. The NT-SF1 delivers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, a low noise of 15 dBA, and is capable of handling SPLs up to 129 dB.
Connections and More. A 10-pin XLR connection at the base of the NT-SF1 provides a four-channel, A-format output. Paired with the included XLR breakout cable, the single output is converted to a selection of four XLR connectors, one for each capsule. The microphone is capable of outputting to all formats, from stereo to 7.1.4 surround sound. To fight against wind and successfully reduce outside noise, the NT-SF1 can be paired with the included spherical blimp-style windshield or furry windscreen.
Phantom Powered. With the breakout cable attached and a compatible preamp or mixer on hand, the NT-SF1 is on and fueled via Phantom power.
SoundField Security. With the SoundField Plugin, you’re guaranteed the most accurate, broadcast-quality spatialisation and sound reproduction. It’s a user friendly approach to ambisonic processing, so you can jump right into your post-production without having to worry about learning new controls, while having access to sound level visualization as you’re recording.
