The enhanced Sigma Cine 50mm T2.0 FF Prime w/ i Technology combines the same high-quality optics and mechanics of its FF prime line with a cine-oriented design, and it now utilizes Cooke /i Technology that provides lens metadata. Key features include:

PL Mount. We carry this lens in several different mounts. This is the PL-mount version.
Cooke/i Technology. By using an /i Technology-compatible cine lens with a cine camera that supports the same protocol, users can see and record lens metadata such as focus distance, focal length, and aperture. This helps streamline compositing in the post production process. This is particularly suitable for the latest forms of filmmaking, such as VFX, that call for detailed shooting data.
Prototypes of these /i Technology-compatible FF High Speed Prime lens were used for shooting Top Gun Maverick, released in 2020, proving that the new lenses are already in commercial applications.
Telephoto Prime. The Sigma Cine 50mm T2.0 offers full-frame coverage, giving you a compact, lightweight, wide-angle cine lens. It’s capable of delivering 6K to 8K resolution, and its fast T2.0 aperture allows depth-of-field control and low-light shooting flexibility.
High-Quality Optics. This lens’s optics are designed to minimize flare and ghosting while enhancing contrast, even in backlit conditions. You’ll get exceptional bokeh, and maximum sharpness across the frame.
Standardized Features. Each lens in Sigma’s FF series shares common focus and iris gear ring positions, enabling quick and easy lens change when using accessories like follow focuses, matte boxes, and lens-control motors. Color balance is standard across this series for easier color correction. The stepless, 0.8 pitch gear aperture and focus rings allow you to use follow focus without the need for clunky gears. Lateral aperture and distance markings make it easy to pull aperture and focus from either side.
That Build Quality Though. A factor so strong, we thought it deserved a second bullet point. Each ring on this lens is sealed, making it both splash-proof and dust-proof. Its markings are laser engraved and a luminous paint job helps you work in the dark. This lens’s body is constructed completely of metal and includes a built-in support foot to prevent undue stress on your camera’s lens mount.
