One of the reasons we decided to carry the Alpha system was the chance to use the marvelous Carl Zeiss lenses made for the Alpha system. This may actually be the best of all the Zeiss glass, and certainly at 135mm and f/1.8. It’s also a pretty large lens, weighing almost 2.5 pounds. And it’s absolutely spectacular: The depth of field is as narrow as you could want, the out of focus areas are buttery smooth, and it’s sharp even wide open.
