The Bushnell 7×50 is a sturdy, high-performance pair of nautical binoculars with a built-in compass. Key features include:
- 7x magnification, 50mm objective lens
- 47º approximate apparent FOV, 6.7º true FOV
- BAK4 Porro prism optical path
- Compass & illuminated range-finding reticle
Buoyant Binos. Designed for boating, sailing, coastal observation, and even just inclement weather, the Bushnell 7×50 Marine binoculars are waterproof, fogproof, and sinkproof. They are equipped with both a compass and an illuminated range-finding reticle, which has vertical and horizontal scales for rapid distance calculations. A liquid-filled compass is built right into the viewing optics and has an advanced damping design suitable for heavy motion. This is illuminated when you install two 1.5-volt alkaline button cell batteries. The airtight, nitrogen-purged, O-ring-sealed aluminum alloy housing ensures the Bushnell 7×50 can withstand harsh conditions.
Optics. These binoculars use BAK4 prism glass with excellent light transmission and the Porro prism design allows for a rich depth of field that makes it easier to judge the distance between objects without eye strain, plus it enables a shorter form factor for better handling. Aberrations are corrected for distortion-free views and the wide apparent field of view provides an immersive viewing experience. With an exit pupil of 7.1mm, these binoculars have no trouble filling more of your eye with available light, making them the ideal pair for dawn, dusk, and night sky viewing.
User-Friendly Functionality. These binoculars have individual eyepiece focusing instead of a single center wheel so that each eyepiece is custom for your eyes. Once set, you shouldn’t have to refocus when observing objects that are over 20 meters out. The distance between the eyepiece and your eyes is about 18mm, which is a comfortable amount for seeing the entire field of view without vignetting and is excellent for those in glasses. This is further supported by twist-up eyecups. The closed-bridge configuration provides a stable, center-weighted, and secure feel when handling. When you need more stability, there is a 1/4"-20 thread mount for attaching tripods.
