The Canon 8×20 IS Image Stabilized Binoculars are a versatile and lightweight viewing tool offering 8x magnification and a 346.5-foot field-of-view across 1,000 yards. Key features include:
Easy push-button activation
Lens shift image stabilization
56 to 72mm interpupillary distance adjustment
Field-flattener lens system
Image Stabilization. Using gyro sensors and a microprocessor, these ultra-compact 8x binoculars feature built-in image stabilization that corrects for hand tremors at +-0.9° in all directions. With the choice between Normal IS and Power IS, you may not need the included CR123A battery, but it is required for Power IS!
Optics. These binoculars use a Porro prism optical path for a rich depth of field that makes it easier to judge the distance between objects without eye strain, plus it enables a shorter form factor for better handling. Aberrations are corrected for distortion-free views and the wide 49.5° apparent field of view provides an immersive viewing experience. The 2.5mm exit pupil produces bright, high-contrast imagery that’s suitable for twilight.
Build. A textured, water-resistant rubber coating provides a sure grip and center-mounted focus and stabilizer controls offer great ergonomics with easy access for both hands. Please note there are no tripod mount threads on these binoculars. There are also no threads for filters. The distance between the eyepiece and your eyes is about 13.5mm, which is a comfortable amount for seeing the entire field of view without vignetting and is moderately comfortable for those in glasses. For a more comfortable set for glasses wearers with 15mm eye relief, see the Canon 15×50 IS binoculars.
