Do I need a rail system with this?

Please note, the included bridge plate includes two 3/8-16 attachment screws for connecting to a camera baseplate and is not intended to have a camera mounted directly to it.

What type of power source does this lens use?

For most cameras, this lens will require a D-Tap power source to power the lens with the included 12-pin to D-Tap cable.
If you’re using this with a Canon C500 Mark II or C300 Mark III, you’ll need a Gold Mount or V-Mount power kit with compatible brick battery or the Canon EU-V2 Expansion Unit 2 and Canon 12-Pin to 12-Pin Interface Extension Cable 15.7-inch to power the lens from the expansion unit’s lens terminal.
