8K Optical Performance. The Canon Flex Zoom CN-E 31.5-95mm T1.7 L SP has an optical design built for 4K-8K HDR capture. It gives you the warm color balance, natural skin tones, and wide tonal range that you’d expect from a lens in Canon’s Cine line.
Constant T1.7 Aperture. The 31.5-95’s fast, constant T1.7 aperture makes for great low-light performance and subject/background separation throughout the zoom range, while the 11-blade diaphragm accommodates minute exposure adjustments with pleasing bokeh and out-of-focus highlights.
Cine Lens Build. The CN-E 31.5-95mm is enclosed in a traditional video-lens housing. Its focus, zoom, and iris rings have industry-standard gears and 0.8mm pitch, so you can use most standard follow focuses and other third-party accessories. This lens offers a focus-rotation angle of approximately 300 degrees, allowing for long focus throws. Its 3.3-foot minimum focusing distance makes it possible to shoot in fairly tight spaces.
Metadata Support. This lens supports Cooke’s /i metadata protocols to communicate with the camera, recording optical characteristics and lens settings to every frame to make post-production easier. This is especially useful when you’re adding effects in post. It also lets you use features like focal length, T-stop, aberration correction, focus guide function, and peripheral illumination with compatible cameras.
