The Leica M (Type 240) pairs a full-frame image sensor with the quality and tradition on which Leica’s reputation was founded. It’s a predecessor to the M-P and M10. Key features include:
High-Quality Images. The Leica M (Type 240) is designed around a 24MP full-frame CMOS sensor and Leica MAESTRO processor, and boasts features such as a 3.0-inch, 920,000 pixel LCD; Live View capabilities with 10x zoom and focus peaking; and a ISO range up to 6,400. The Leica M (Typ 240) offers 1080p Full HD video with rangefinder or Live View—an M-series first. Its maximum ISO level of 6,400 provides low-light shooting capabilities that were previously not possible with digital color Leica M cameras.
High-Quality Build. Passed down from previous generations of the M series, the Leica M has a weather-sealed metal body with a leatherette grip and the infamous Leica red dot. The camera has Leica’s standard rangefinder-coupled viewfinder, and accepts nearly all M-mount manual-focus lenses.
Flexibility. The Leica M is powered by a new 1,800 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which allows for longer battery life than previous models. It records images to SDHC/SDXC memory cards. Images are recorded in either Adobe DNG RAW files or JPEGs, allowing you the flexibility to use nearly any editing software.
