The Panasonic microP2 64GB UHS-II is a proprietary memory card for select Panasonic camcorders based on the SD format. Key features include:
- Fast Read / Write. Offers a maximum read speed of 2Gb/s and a maximum write speed of 200Mb/s using the AVC-Intra200 recording format.
- SD Form Factor. With the microP2 memory cards, Panasonic chose the SD format to base their design off of. While it looks the same, there are a few key differences.
- Different From SD. The microP2 format uses a RAID-type error correction system that records data in a linear fashion with CPS password protection for securing data. There’s a Lifetime Counter that notifies you when you’re nearing the end of it’s lifespan, and it’s a member of Panasonic’s Proof 7 class of cards. The noticeably sturdier card can withstand water and dust, shock and vibration, magnetic fields, X-rays, extreme temperatures and static electricity. Additionally, an integrated safety fuse protects against overheating.
Warning: This is not a standard SD memory card. If you rent it with the intentions of using it that way and it doesn’t work, you will have wasted your money.
