Nikon Z System. The Nikon Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 was designed specifically for cameras in Nikon’s full-frame Z-mount system. Z-mount lenses only work with Z-mount cameras, and Z-mount cameras are only compatible with Z-mount lenses.

Normal-Range Zoom. With full-frame sensor coverage, this lens’s 24-50mm focal length is great for portraiture, travel photography, and walk-around shooting. It covers the wide to normal focal lengths to give you flexibility while still maximizing image quality and speed. Using a DX-format camera? This lens will give you a 36-75mm equivalent focal-length range.

Variable Aperture. The variable f/4-6.3 aperture isn’t useful for low-light shooting, so you’ll probably want to stick with outdoor-lighting conditions for best results. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth, pleasing bokeh for shallow depth-of-field techniques.

High-Quality Optics. The 24-50mm’s ten-group/eleven-element optical design includes two extra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements that combine to produce sharp, high-contrast images and reduce color fringing and aberrations throughout the zoom range. The Super Integrated Coating also helps keep optical aberrations and distortion at bay.

Stepping Motor Autofocus System. This system uses a stepping motor for smooth, nearly silent performance that’s great for stills and video alike. You also get full-time manual focusing for precision adjustments, while the internal-focusing design means that the lens maintains its length during focusing.
