Advanced Optical Formula. The Zeiss ZF.2 35mm f/2 features a complex Distagon optical formula to ensure the highest optical performance. Its floating elements and APD glass elements keep distortion and aberrations at bay while producing high-quality, high-microcontrast images with accurate colors across the entire focusing range. The Zeiss T* anti-reflective coatings help to combat lens flare and ghosting.
Versatile Focal Length. This lens’s focal length makes it excellent for portrait, architectural, and commercial photography.
Manual-Focus Design. This lens sports a precise, ergonomically designed manual-focusing mechanism with a 113° of rotation. The all-metal lens barrel includes engraved depth-of-field and distance scales for precise focus control, and the high-quality construction gives the ZF.2 35mm f/2 a premium feel.
Communicates With the Camera. The ZF.2 designation adds a microchip to the lens that automatically lets the camera know time, aperture setting, and manual exposure settings, including those for cameras that are not AI-compatible. Since the lens now transmits the EXIF data, photographers no longer need to manually set the parameters. The ZF.2 lenses are optically identical to the original ZF lenses, so if these functions aren’t important to you, you can save some money by getting the original ZF mount.
