The OM System M.Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8 ED IS PRO is a stable and fast telephoto lens designed for Micro 4/3 cameras, and a continuation of the Olympus legacy following the OM SYSTEM rebranding. Key features include:
Internal zoom and focus
f/2.8 to f/22 aperture range
7-stop 5-axis sync image stabilization
100-400mm full-frame equivalent
Flexible Telephoto Zoom. A broad focal length and fixed f/2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range carries this OM System M.Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8 ED IS PRO through a variety of shooting applications. Best suited for outdoor, sports, and fast-moving subject capture, this lens boasts a 100-400mm-equivalent field of view for full-frame capture.
Optical and Physical Design. Offering a 21-element, 13-group optical configuration, this lens delivers edge-to-edge clarity through 1 EDA, 2 Super ED, 1 ED, 2 HR, and 3 E-HR ultra-thin elements. With a ZERO Coating II on the front-most lens element, this lens rejects flares and ghosting to ensure sharp capture, while a fluorine coating helps repel water drops and stains. Its IP53-certified body protects the entire lens from water, dust, and cold damage.
Image Stabilization and Autofocus. To further drive stable capture, the M.Zuiko 50-200mm features 5-axis Sync image stabilization that compensates for up to 7 stops of shake when used with an OM SYSTEM camera body. Without Sync IS engaged, the lens only compensates for 5.5 stops of shake. Alongside image stabilization, this lens offers an impressively fast and responsive autofocusing system capable of continuous shooting at 50 fps.
Internal Zoom and Focus. Although a 50-200mm lens isn’t the first focal length that comes to mind for close-up shots, this lens offers a solid 2.6-foot minimum focusing distance throughout the entire zoom range. With a maximum magnification of 0.25x at 200mm, Sync IS, and the constant f/2.8 aperture, close-range macro capture is just as easy as long distance capture!
