Same Lens, New Branding. This is the same lens as the Olympus 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ but re-branded to reflect the transition from Olympus to OM System.

Distinguished by its flat form factor, the M.Zuiko ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ is a versatile zoom for Micro 4/3 systems with an equivalent (in 35mm terms) focal range of 28-84mm – and ideal range for everyday shooting. However, the f/3.5-5.6 variable aperture doesn’t give much flexibility for low-light shooting, so you’ll probably want to only use it in outdoor daylight conditions.

MSC Focus and Electronic Zoom. The Movie-Stills-Compatible (MSC) autofocus system and electronic zoom provide fast, nearly silent performance that’s perfect for recording high-definition video without noise from the lens.

Optics and Build. This lens features three aspherical elements to reduce optical aberrations and distortion, one extra-low dispersion element to minimize chromatic aberrations, and one super-high refractive index element for uniform light transmission and increased sharpness. The compact, lightweight design allows the lens to fit nicely in your bag and won’t be a burden to carry around.
