Will this work with any DSMC3 cameras?

No. DSMC2 cameras and accessories will not work with any DSMC3 cameras or accessories.

What is the highest resolution that can be output from this expander's video ports?

This expander will only output 1080p video from either the HDMI or 3G-SDI video ports.

Does the mic port provide phantom power?

No. You’ll need a powered microphone or a phantom power adapter for microphones utilizing the “Mic” port.

Do I need this if I rented a RED DSMC2 brain from Lensrentals?

No. Every RED DSMC2 brain that we rent includes the DSMC2 Base Expander as part of the rental.
