What’s Changed? Continuing Sigma’s line of “Contemporary” APS-C lenses, this 15mm f/1.4 DC C offers improved optical performance, a slightly wider perspective, and a more compact design compared to its predecessor. Looks aren’t everything, but improved weather resistance, a 30% decrease in length and a whopping 50% decrease in weight delivers a more versatile and flexible option for Sony E-mount APS-C cameras.
Ultra-Wide, Ultra-Fast. This 15mm lens surpasses its predecessor in plenty of ways, including improved edge-to-edge performance. Even with its wide f/1.4 aperture, this lens delivers high-quality imaging in low light, and maintains sharp clarity across the entire frame. A nine-blade diaphragm produces a smooth, circular bokeh around the perimeter of your still image or video, creates immersive and shallow depth to your imaging, and enhances focus on your subjects.
Stepping AF Motor. This lens’s smooth, precise autofocus capabilities is supported by its stepping AF motor. Without skipping a beat, this motor quickly works to capture fast-moving scenes and deliver incredible tracking performance for video production.
Design and More. The compact size of the 15mm might make you think there isn’t a lot to offer physically, but you’d be wrong. Not only is the design of this lens built to resist splashes and dust, an oil- and water-repellent coating across the front lens element further protects you from unsavory weather conditions. With a manual aperture ring, you have access to intuitive, direct control over aperture settings, while an “A” position on the lens allows the lens to communicate with camera-based aperture control.
