What’s Changed? Continuing the legacy of the DG Art line from Sigma, this 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art builds on its predecessor to offer a more versatile and sharp lens you can take anywhere. Its refined design makes this second-generation lens 14% smaller and 20% lighter, while improved optics and the addition of a floating focus system deliver more defense against axial chromatic aberrations through four high-precision aspherical elements and two SLD glass elements. Replacing the steeping motor with a dual high-speed HLA-driven motor, this generation equips you with sharper, quieter and faster autofocus. The newly developed Advanced Amorphous Coating (AAC) fights against reflections, ghosting and flares, creating a world of high-quality shooting from novice hobbyists to professional creators.
Fast-Aperture Wide-Angle Prime. The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art’s fast aperture makes it ideal for shooting in difficult light, achieving shallow depth of field, and giving you ample background separation for portraiture. The rounded eleven-blade diaphragm helps produce large, pleasing bokeh. Using an APS-C sensor camera? You’ll have a focal length equivalent to 53.6mm.
Dual HLA AF. Powering this lens’s precise and quiet autofocus are the dual, high-speed and high-thrust HLA-driven motors. From still photography to fast moving subjects, these motors deliver incredible focusing performance and reduced focus breathing. From 11-inches to infinity, the updated floating focus system maintains sharpness throughout the entire focusing range.
Advanced Optics. This lens’s twelve-group/fifteen-element optical design includes four high-precision aspherical elements and two SLD glass elements to minimize chromatic aberrations, distortion, and vignetting while providing maximum sharpness, color accuracy, and clarity. Each of the elements is coated with an AAC coating to further combat lens flare and ghosting, while an additional Resistance coating helps keep oil, water, and smudges from sticking to the front lens surface.
Manual Aperture Ring. This lens features a manual aperture ring that can be de-clicked with a switch on the side of the lens for video shooters looking for smooth iris transitions or used by photographers looking for an easy way to check and adjust aperture.
High-Quality Build. The Sigma 35mm’s Thermally Stable Composite build is dust- and splash-resistant, so that you can use it in adverse conditions. It also boasts a brass bayonet mount for maximum durability.
