Despite the horrid luck we had with the newer Sigma telephoto zooms, we decided to stock the Sigma 50 f1.4 since so many of our customers wanted to try it. The lens has an HSM (hypersonic motor) drive for quick autofocusing, multiple coatings and aspheric elements to prevent flare and chromatic aberration, and appears to be a sharp, contrasty mid-range prime.
