Lightning-Fast Dual Card Reader. The RED-approved Sonnet SF3 RED Mini-Mag Reader with Thunderbolt 3 can transfer data from up to two RED Mini-Mag media cards at once over a single Thunderbolt 3 cable. It boasts a very fast 1060 Mb/s ingest speed from each card.
Expandability. This reader has two 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 ports, the second of which lets you daisy-chain up to five additional Thunderbolt-compatible peripherals or a total of three RED Mini-Mag Readers so that you can offload six cards at once over a single cable.
Versatility. The SF3’s Thunderbolt 3 connections are backward-compatible with Thunderbolt 2 and Thunderbolt if you use an optional Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. This reader includes 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 support, which lets you connect a USB device to the second Thunderbolt port if you have the necessary cable or adapter. It also provides full support for 4K and 5K 60 Hz displays. If you want to connect two 4K monitors, you’ll need a 4K monitor with multi-stream transport support or a Thunderbolt 3 to Dual DisplayPort adapter. If you want to use a 5K monitor, you’ll need a Thunderbolt 3 to Dual DisplayPort adapter.
Portability and Durability. This reader’s compact, robust aluminum build means you can use it in the studio or on location without worry. Its stackable design means you can daisy-chain three units in the same footprint.
