The Sony A65 Digital Camera is a DSLR with a multitude of features. Sony’s Translucent Mirror Technology system is one for starters. This technology allows the camera to both shoot and focus with speed and accuracy by directing light to the image sensor and the Phase Detection AF sensor.
The 24.3Mp APS-C sensor gives you the ability to make huge prints and to experience detail that’s absolutely outstanding. It features an OLED electronic viewfinder and tilting/swiveling 3.0" rear LCD for ease of image composition and review. It has a buit-in pop-up flash, as well as an integrated hotshoe for connecting a more powerful external flash. Its full-time phase detection AF offers speedy shooting, with up to 10 frames per second continuous shooting. For video shooters, the a65 records up to 1080/60p in AVCHD 2.0.
Please Note: While traditional SLR mirrors are extremely sensitive, think of the Sony translucent mirror as a super-duper extremely sensitive dust magnet. If it is touched with anything, it will scratch. Before we send out any camera or adapter that uses one of these mirrors, we clean the mirror and sensor so you do not have dust affect your images or video.
However, anytime you take the body cap off and expose the inside of the camera, you are giving dust free-range to the mirror, which could fall onto the sensor. If you see dust on the mirror, any attempt to blow the dust off could actually shift it to the sensor instead. While dust on the mirror could show up in images, it’s not nearly as noticeable as sensor dust. Since we send the sensor and mirror clean, we suggest you ensure the lens you are about to mount is clean, then take the cap off the camera and quickly mount said lens. This will minimize the dust that enters the mirror box.
