This Sony ARS-1 RTK Precision Mapping Aerial Kit provides users with equipment needed for aerial surveying and inspection. We’ve combined a Real Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System (RTK GNSS) receiver with Sony’s ARS-S1 drone to enable high-precision positioning and provided a camera setup based on Sony’s recommendations for optimal functionality and flying time. Mapping Data. The RTK is designed to make surveying and inspection as accessible as possible, including everything you need to record centimeter-level accurate environmental mapping data for 3D modeling, surveying, and inspection. There’s a Manfrotto 273 Survey Adapter that you can use to mount the RTK Base Station. This adapter converts a tripod-head screw from 3/8-inch threads to 5/8 inches, the common size used with most survey and measuring equipment. We don’t include a tripod but there are a number that we recommend.
Lightweight Versatility and Speed. We’ve combined the impressive stills and video performance of Sony’s Alpha a7R IVA full-frame 61-megapixel camera with Sony’s FE 40mm f/2.5 G lens and mounted them on the PX1 Gremsy Gimbal. This lens is an ideal single-focal-length option—not too wide and not too narrow—and it weighs in at a mere 6.1 oz / 173 g. Plus the gimbal presets for this lens are built into the Airpeak Flight app. We’ve also included a trio of ND filters to help with shooting in bright light.
Power and Control. Sony’s LBP-HM1 Enhanced Battery for Airpeak S1 provides up to thirty minutes of flight time without a payload. You’ll need two batteries to power the drone, and this rental includes four batteries to maximize your flight time between charges. We also include Sony’s professional-grade Remote Controller for Airpeak S1 Drone, which gives you a live view during the flight and real-time control over the aircraft and gimbal.
Extra Propellers Included. We’re including an extra set of propellers, just in case you need them. These lightweight, 17-inch-long propellers are easy to swap out, so you can get right back to shooting. Their carbon-based resin construction ensures their durability.
Pre Pre-Flight Checks. This rental includes two memory cards—one for the RTK and another for the camera—which will arrive formatted and pre-installed. To further reduce setup time, we’ve also programmed the camera with Sony’s basic recommended settings and readied it to attach to the gimbal. You’ll still need to calibrate the drone and perform your own pre-flight checks once you’ve reached your flight zone.
