Polarizers help filter out light that has been polarized from a non-metallic surface, like when sunlight reflects off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. Using a polarized filter ensures that glare, haze, and reflection are at the absolute minimum. The separately available Tilta Mirage Wireless Motor allows you to control the polarizer’s rotation to find its maximum effect.

Autofocus and Exposure Control. Linear polarizers distort the incoming light to the point that autofocus and internal light metering are negatively impacted. To correct this, circular polarizers stack a randomizing filter layer behind the polarizer to scatter the light, which enables those camera functions to perform properly.
