If you’re one of the 4 or 5 people to ever visit this page you probably have questions. Like, “How long is this?” It’s 24 inches long. Or “WTF is this thing?” Well, it’s a bar with a mount in the center you put on a tripod. The mount has a clampy thing in the center you attach to a tripod and then can slide the bar back and forth. There are a couple of mounty things with threaded screw bases where you can, well, mount things to the bar. Cameras, flashes, whatever. It’s got a couple of more mounts on either end.

The more sensible among you will put a couple of lights, maybe a mic, or camera and lens, etc. One on either side because that kind of balances nature. Maybe, for a little variety you might move things so they’re a bit to this side or that. The less sensible will do things like slide it all the way to one side, put a flash near the middle and a supertelephoto lens and large camera over on the far end so those pesky tripod legs don’t get in your way. I don’t really have time to get into physics here, but if you put a light on one side and a 10 pound lens on the other, things will not turn out like you think they might turn out. Your gear will do what we in the rental business call “Go to Ground”.
