Ultra-Wide Prime with Sun-Star Bokeh. The Venus Optics Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Lite Zero-D MF’s aperture, 122° angle of view, and virtually distortion-free performance make it great for landscape, architecture, and real-estate shooting, in addition to working in low light. You can use its 5.5-inch minimum focusing distance and ultra-wide perspective to get great bokeh shots and wide-angle close-ups, and its 14-blade aperture produces a unique, soft sun-star effect when pointed at a strong light source.
Virtually Distortion-Free. This lens’s rectilinear nine-group/sixteen-element optical design keeps distortion at an absolute minimum. It includes two aspherical elements and four low-dispersion elements which help to eliminate chromatic aberrations and color fringing. The XLD coating keeps the front element clear of dust and moisture, allowing you to work in inclement conditions.
Fully Manual Lens. This is a fully manual lens that provides no electronic communication with the camera. You must manually make all aperture and focus adjustments on the lens itself, and lens information is not transferred through EXIF data. A dedicated switch lets you quickly de-click the manual aperture ring for smooth, quiet rotation that’s great for video.
