Full-Frame Wide Angle. Designed with the full-frame Sony E-mount cameras in mind, the Batis 18mm f/2.8 gives you a true ultra-wide angle option for the system. It has a 99º angle of view, making it ideal for architecture, landscape, and interior photography. The fast f/2.8 aperture means you can use it in low light.

Autofocus. While the Loxia line gives you great manual-focus/aperture lenses, the Batis line provides you with autofocus capability. Its linear motor offers fast, nearly silent performance.

OLED Display. While many lenses use focus-distance and depth-of-field scales, the Batis lenses forego this for an OLED display. It functions exactly like the traditional methods, but provides the enhanced ability to see these parameters in low lighting.

Advanced Optics. The Distagon ten-group/eleven-element optical formula includes two aspherical elements and two special aspherical elements. The floating element design helps to eliminate aberrations throughout the focusing range. Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating eliminates lens flare and ghosting while providing the famous high micro-contrast Zeiss look.

High-Quality Build. Like other Zeiss offerings, the Batis line features great build quality. Cosmetically, they look quite similar to the Touits, with their metal construction and rubberized focus rings. However, the Batis lenses can boast dust- and weather-sealed construction for peace of mind in inclement shooting conditions.
