The Zeiss Milvus ZF.2 15mm f/2.8 for Nikon is a high-quality manual-focus lens designed for Nikon DSLRs, and an update to the popular Zeiss ZF.2 15mm f/2.8. Key features include:
Removable Hood. The biggest complaint about the original 15mm ZF.2 was that the built-in hood made it difficult to mount filters. The new Milvus design incorporates a removable hood that makes it much easier to mount 95mm filters to the front threads.
Very Wide Angle. Like its predecessor, this lens is really, really wide. Like really wide. Like 110° angle of view wide. Because its field of view is exactly 110°. Its minimal distortion makes it an excellent choice for architecture and landscape photography.
Very Close Focus. When this lens’s wide perspective is coupled with its 9.84-inch minimum focusing distance, foreground subjects become exaggerated, creating a broad sense of space in the image.
Advanced Optics. The Zeiss Milvus ZF.2 15mm f/2.8 for Nikon continues Zeiss’s legacy of phenomenal optics. This lens features five anomalous partial-dispersion glass elements within a floating-elements system, as well as two aspherical elements that control distortions and aberrations while retaining sharpness and clarity at any focus distance. The enhanced T* anti-reflective coating controls ghosting and flare for a color-neutral image that still flaunts that famous high micro-contrast “Zeiss look.”
High-Quality Build. The Milvus ZF.2 15mm f/2.8 features a weather-resistant construction with internal seals to guard against dust and moisture, while a blue sealing ring at the lens mount protects the lens-camera interface. The all-metal lens barrel has a frosted, anodized surface for increased durability.
Modern Manual Focus. This fully manual-focus lens features a 119° focus throw and rubberized focus ring for improved tactile control, while still providing electrical communication with the camera to control aperture and communicate EXIF data.
Click On. Click Off. The 15mm Milvus f/2M ZF.2 line offers an aperture ring that features 1/2-stop clicks throughout the f/2.8-22 range, as well as the ability to mechanically switch to clickless operation.
