The Zeiss ZE 50mm f/2 Makro Planar is a normal-perspective macro lens that’s recognized as one of the sharpest lenses available and is the predecessor to the Zeiss Milvus ZE 50mm f/2M. Key features include:

Normal-Perspective Macro. It’s not a true Macro in that it has a 1:2 maximum focusing ratio, but it does give you a 9.45-inch minimum focusing distance. Its fast f/2 aperture lets you shoot hand-held even in less-than-ideal light.

Advanced Optical Design. The ZE 50mm f/2 Makro Planar’s floating-elements design helps to produce extremely sharp, high-microcontrast images across a wide focusing range. Although it gives up a stop of aperture compared to the Zeiss ZE 50mm f/1.4, many photographers prefer it because of its razor-sharp images.

Versatile on Full-Frame Cameras. In addition to being great for macro work, the ZE 50mm f/2 Makro Planar is a versatile standard lens when you use it with a full-frame camera.
