What’s Changed? The Fuji X-T50 (Black) features quite a few improvements over its X-T series contemporaries. It’s the first in its series to feature an image-stabilization system, which delivers up to 7.0EV of correction. It’s also the first in its series to include a dedicated film-simulation dial, which gives you immediate access to its myriad film-simulation modes. This camera borrows many features from the X-T5, including its 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5 engine, which give you that camera’s image quality; its latest autofocus algorithms and subject-recognition modes; its tap-to-track video autofocus; and its Camera-to-Cloud functionality.

Film-Simulation at the Forefront. The X-T50 includes twenty film-simulation modes—among them REALA ACE—to give your shots and footage a distinct look based on many of Fujifilm’s classic film types. In a series first, a dedicated dial on the camera’s left shoulder gives you instant, direct access to these modes so you don’t have to menu-dive. You also get a number of monochrome modes that simulate the effects of color filters, and a Grain Effect mode that gives your shots an old-timey appearance.

40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR Sensor. The 40.2MP X-Trans 5 sensor uses an enhanced image-processing algorithm to increase resolution without affecting the signal-to-noise ratio, producing extremely sharp and clear images throughout its normal ISO range of 125-12,800.

X-Processor 5 Engine. The X-Processor 5 engine facilitates great low-light performance and supercharges operation speed. It greatly reduces startup time, shutter lag, and navigation. The combination of this engine and the X-Trans CMOS 5 sensor increases the maximum continuous shooting rate to 13 fps and extends the ISO-sensitivity range to 64-51,200 for photo and 125-25,600 for video.

6.2K 30p Video. The X-T50 captures 6.2K 30p video in 4:2:2 10-bit color from a 1.23x cropped region of the sensor, HQ 4K 60p video at a 1.14x crop oversampled from 6.2K footage, sub-sampled 4K 60p video at a 1.14x crop, and sub-sampled 4K 60p video at the sensor’s full width. The micro-HDMI port lets you record 10-bit 4:2:2 or 12-bit RAW footage to an optional external recorder.

Takin’ It To The Streets. This is a camera purpose-built for street photography. Its 1/180,000 sec top electronic shutter speed and 1/4,000 maximum mechanical shutter speed mean you’ll be ready to capture even the most fast-moving subjects. If you hold down the shutter button, the X-T5- records images at up to 20 fps at a 1.29x crop with the electronic shutter, and at 8 fps with the mechanical shutter.

In-Body Image Stabilization. The five-axis image-stabilization system—a first for the X-T series—uses a combination of gyro data and live-view image analysis to correct your footage for up to seven stops of camera shake so that you can confidently shoot hand-held or in low light.

Focus, Focus, Focus. The X-T50’s hybrid autofocus system uses contrast- and phase-detection methods for fast, accurate performance in a wide range of lighting conditions. Its 425 selectable points cover almost the entire sensor for pinpoint focusing, even when capturing fast-moving subjects. A machine-trained subject-recognition autofocus feature can track an array of different subjects in any lighting conditions you throw at it.

Touchscreen LCD and OLED EVF. The 3.0-inch, 1.84m-dot rear touchscreen LCD features a three-way tilt mechanism for easy viewing in most any position. There’s also a 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder with 0.62x magnification and 100% frame coverage.

Additional Features. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth let you wirelessly share images and use a linked mobile device to remotely control the camera. The X-T50 is powered by an NP-W126S battery, which gives you approximately 305 shots per charge, or up to 390 shots per charge in Eco Mode. You also get a single UHD-II compatible SD-card slot.
