There’s a reason this one is often difficult to find—it’s just that good. Nikon has broken new ground here, putting world-class wide-aperture prime lens in DX mount. It’s as sharp as it should be, small enough to fit in your pocket (unless your pants are really tight), and a great focal length. I’m still not sure how Nikon did it at this price, that’s just amazing.

I’ll be honest, if you can find it for sale at list price, just buy it, don’t rent it. Its on my list of “lenses you just must own” if you shoot Nikon DX.
