The SmallHD 1703 HDR 17-inch Production Monitor is a larger-format on-set monitor that comes ready to accept Gold Mount batteries. The 1703 P3X is the newer version. Key features include:

Not So Small. The SmallHD 1703 is not really all that small anymore. The larger form factor at 17-inch makes it an ideal choice for a client monitor, director’s monitor, or as a multi-view monitor for a video switcher.

Page Builder. First seen on the smaller on-camera SmallHD monitors, Page Builder OS is an easy-to-use GUI that allows you to selectively apply monitoring tools such as waveforms, vectorscopes, multiview, focusing aids, and LUTs on to different pages. You can screen capture and save stills to an SD Card (with a baked-in LUT) that can be used later for reference purposes.

Speedy Rail Setup. The RapidRail Shoe-Mount System allows you to quickly mount accessories to the back of the monitor using a standard camera shoe mount style configuration. We provide two RapidRail mounts with the 1703 rental.

Daylight Viewable The 1920×1080 Full HD, 8-bit panel is daylight-viewable with a 1000 cd/m² brightness rating. We also offer the SmallHD Sun Hood for 1700 Series Production Monitors for those really bright days on set. There are two SDI inputs or an HDMI input, each with loop-through capability.

Gold Mount. This version of the SmallHD 1703 includes an Anton Bauer Gold Mount battery plate. To help keep cost down and give you the most flexibility, we do not include any Gold Mount batteries or chargers with the rental. However, we do have a variety to choose from that are available to rent separately.

Other Notable Features. There are USB ports mounted at the rear that can power accessories with a maximum draw of 0.5 amps per port. The 1703 can be powered via included AC power cable or Gold Mount battery (separate rental item). We’ve bundled the monitor with SmallHD’s C-Stand Mount and Table Stand Kit to give you the most support options, and the unit features sliding top handle to move the monitor around set.
