Atomos Ninja 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor

The Atomos Ninja 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor is a compact monitor/recorder duo that offers an updated operating system, HDR monitoring, and RAW recording capabilities. Key features include:

Compact, Touchscreen Display. This Atomos Ninja 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor comes equipped with a touchscreen display and offers a 1920 × 1080 resolution and 1000 cd/m² brightness, perfect for daylight viewing. This display ensures high quality monitoring thanks to a 10-bit color processing, Rec.709 color gamut, and Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration support.

AtomOS 11. This monitor offers the new AtomOS 11 operating system, bringing new features and an improved interface to your Ninja. These new features include Focus Peaking, Zoom, Atomos and ARRI False Color, EL Zone colorized exposure, Safe Areas, RecordAssit, PlayBackAssist, SegmentPro, and Cine Guides. Additionally, you’ll find that this monitor provides a AtomHDR processing engine that enables real-time Log to PQ/HLG previewing.

Interface & Recording. This Ninja provides a HDMI input and output port that supports up to DCI 4K video at 60 fps in monitoring, recording, and playback modes, and 3.5K RAW at 60 fps footage is supported with select cameras. You can also configure this monitor into a stand-alone system for UHD 4K, HDR, and high frame rate gaming capture.

SSD Recording. Compatible with both the Master Caddy II and Master Caddy III, this unit supports direct recording to the drives. We include the Master Caddy III with this rental. Using a separately available adapter, you also have the option to use AtomX SSDmini drives and CFAST II cards.

Power Trip. You’ll find that there is in integrated L-Series battery plate on this monitor, which will support NP-F L-series batteries outputting 5.8 to 7.2V. There’s also a USB-C port that supports 30W PD power using the included USB-C to Locking 5.5mm cable, but if you use the included battery eliminator, you can power up via DC sources.

Control Options. For intuitive onboard control, multifunction control buttons work with the touchscreen interface, and an auto HDMI camera trigger is supported by both Canon and Sony using Atomos Open Standard. If you add the Atomos Connect to your rental, you can have access to Bluetooth and RF-driven remote control.

Q & A

Can I use Sandisk Ultra 3D SSDs with this recorder?

While the drive physically fits, we’ve observed recording issues with the Sandisk Ultra 3D SSD drives on this model of recorder. See the recommended section for compatible SSDs.

Does this rental include an AC adapter?

No, this rental will not include an AC adapter. We recommend grabbing the ZILR 65W GaN 3-Port USB Type-C AC Wall Charger with your order.

Does this monitor include all available upgrades?

Footage can be saved in RAW, ProRes, H.265 or DNxHR formats. NDI/HX2 is not currently available on this monitor.

What are my power options?

Batteries are not included, however an L-series battery plate on the back of the Ninja can support NP-F L-series batteries. Check out the Recommended section to see batteries for rent.
A USB-C port supports 30W PD power delivery with the included cable and an included dummy eliminator can power the monitor via DC power sources.
The monitor can also be powered by d-tap. An Atomos D-Tap to DC Barrel Coiled Cable is available to rent and can be used with the included battery eliminator.
