Atomos Ninja V 5" HDMI Recorder w/ AtomX CAST Switcher

The Atomos Ninja V 5" HDMI Recorder w/ AtomX CAST Switcher is a kit featuring the Atomos Ninja V 5" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor and Atomos AtomX CAST for Ninja V & Ninja V+. This kit offers a compact 5" recording monitor that allows you to easily ingest, record, view, & stream up to four 1080/60p sources as a USB webcam with the AtomX CAST. The bright, daylight-viewable LCD panel with touchscreen controls and 1920×1080, 427 ppi resolution provide super crisp images on the 5" display, while the 10-bit bit depth renders rich, accurate colors.

Does this rental include mounting hardware?

No. Since everyone’s mounting needs differ, we decided to make mounting a la carte. We have a wide variety of support gear to choose from, including monitor arms.

How does the CAST affect Ninja V recording functions?

The CAST is only capable of ingesting a 1080i or 1080p signal up to 60 fps so the Ninja V will automatically limit input resolutions to full HD when in use.
In addition to resolution constraints, the Ninja V codecs are limited to ProRes or DNx. RAW recording is not supported while the CAST is connected to the Ninja V.
The CAST expansion module is designed to match the compact form factor of the Ninja V and may not be compatible with all SSDs. We recommend recording with SSDmini, available here, as separate rental items.
Please note, we do not include SSDmini handle adapters by default but we will add them to your order at no additional cost when requested in the special instructions box at checkout.

Can I use the Ninja V HDMI In port simultaneously with the CAST?

No. When the Ninja V is configured for the CAST module, the HDMI input is disabled. The HDMI output on the Ninja V can be used as a secondary output for multiview, preview, or program.

Does the Ninja V record RAW?

Yes, the Ninja V supports ProRes RAW over HDMI.

Does this rental include HDMI or SDI cables?

This rental doesn’t include any HDMI or SDI cables. You can find our cables here. If you’re unsure about which cord is right for your application, please contact us for verification.

Does this rental include an SSD?

This rental doesn’t include an SSD, but they’re available as separate rental items. You can see some options under Recommended on the left-hand side of this page.
