The Fuji GFX 100RF is a compact rangefinder-style camera with a built-in 28mm-equivalent lens and a 102MP medium format sensor. Key features include:

  • Large 43.8 × 32.9mm BSI CMOS II sensor
  • 4-stop ND filter inside leaf shutter lens
  • DCI 4K30p recording
  • Digital teleconverter for 45mm, 63mm, 80mm

Large Format, Small Form Factor. The first of its kind, the GFX 100RF mixes the high-resolution quality of medium format with a sleek and lightweight rangefinder-style body. Equipped with a fixed 35mm (28mm equivalent in 35mm terms) prime lens, this camera is dedicated to an active image-making experience. It is sleek, tactile, well-suited for travel and street photography, and makes for a very stylish everyday carry.

Custom Creative Control. Create your own distinct look with 20 film simulations, nine aspect ratios, and a digital teleconverter for 45mm, 63mm, and 80mm focal lengths that mimic three popular GF lenses. The built-in lens has a leaf shutter that can sync with strobes and flashes up to 1/4,000th of a second. It also has a 4-stop ND filter – ideal for shallow depth of field shooting in bright conditions or for smooth motion effects.

Large Feature Set, Expertly Crafted. This is truly a unique point-and-shoot. Not only are you working with 100+ megapixels, the processor also sets a new standard for medium format speeds with up to 6 frames-per-second shooting. A redesigned pixel structure and microlens layout of the sensor improves sharpness and autofocus accuracy. This complements a newly-designed lens with excellent image quality and focusing down to under 8 inches. Autofocus performance is supported by improved algorithms and AI subject detection. Expand your creative storytelling with 4K30p 4:2:2 10-bit recording in F-Log2 and 13+ stops of dynamic range. ProRes 4:2:2 codec is available when recording directly to an SSD via the USB-C port.

Shoot in Style. The GFX 100RF has a rangefinder-inspired design, complete with an offset viewfinder similar to the ones found in the Fuji X100VI, X-Pro3, and GFX 50R. There are two newly-designed physical functions: a dial for aspect ratio and a lever for teleconverter cropping. Taking advantage of the massive sensor, the default wide angle prime lens can be digitally converted to 45mm, 63mm, and 80mm. The aspect ratios pay homage to large format 8 × 10 cameras, Fuji legacy analog cameras like the TX-1 and GA645, classic 35mm format cameras, and more. While smaller and lighter than other GFX cameras, this machined-aluminum body is still packed with useful tools, including dual SD slots, headphone and microphone jacks, and a micro-HDMI port. Lastly, the large touchscreen and intuitive menu interface make composition and customization quick and easy.

Q & A

  • Which SD cards are recommended?
    • For recording at 360Mbps, V60 or higher is recommended. For 720Mbps, V90 or higher is recommended. Also note that Apple ProRes codec is only available when recording out to SSD. Otherwise, UHS-II SD cards up to 2TB are supported.

  • Does this camera do full-sensor-width recording?
    • When shooting DCI 4K with digital image stabilization (DIS) off, yes. With DIS on there is a 1.32x crop.

  • How's the battery life?
    • The NP-W235 battery will last for approximately 820 frames or up to 140 recording minutes.

  • What are the equivalent megapixels for each of the digital teleconverter lenses?
    • Since you can switch between 3 different “digital lenses” and many aspect ratios, there are a lot of answers to this question. If sticking to 4:3, then you get the following approximate megapixels: 60MP for 45mm mode (36mm equivalent), 30MP for 63mm mode (50mm equivalent), and 20MP for 80mm mode (63mm equivalent). These crops are locked in if you shoot JPEG but are adjustable with raw files.
